WHY AWEcm?
Women’s outcomes should be part of quality — not an afterthought.
The voluntary carbon market has made important progress on gender inclusion, reporting and women-focused standards. But there is still a gap between ambition and practice. On the supply side Developers can lack the funding, expertise and tools needed to design projects with women’s outcomes built in from the start. On the demand side Women’s outcomes are still often treated as an additional co-benefit rather than part of core project quality, due diligence and portfolio strategy. AWEcm exists to help close that gap.

You don't need a particular certification or job title to become part of AWEcm.We welcome people who work in carbon markets, are involved in relevant projects or research, work in policy or standards, are buyers or investors, or simply want to champion better outcomes for women.
