Bokpoort Concentrated Solar Port Programme in South Africa
Clean energy fueling opportunity, health, and women’s growth

The Story
In communities across Northern Cape Province, South Africa, the Bokpoort CSP Programme improves livelihoods—particularly for women—by pairing clean energy deployment with WASH, health, education, and enterprise support. Activities include piped water systems, solar lighting, kitchen gardens for food security, women-owned SME incubation, and youth trainings on GBV prevention and reproductive health. Using the W+ Standard, the programme measures women’s gains in Time, Knowledge & Education, and Food Security (with Health activities in scope), turning progress into decision-useful, verified outcomes.
